The Ambulatory/PACU/OPD Registered Nurse performs within the scope of nursing practice ! as defined by the State Board of Nursing. Provides professional nursing care for patient's prior to their surgery and during secondary recovery, prior to discharge. Pre-surgery: Assist patient with the establishment of good pain control, discharge instruction/teaching.
Hiring Range Description:
Grades 37, 38, 39
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Vermont.
Experience:
Previous experience in Ambulatory Surgery, PACU and Outpatient Department preferred. Cardiac/Critical Care Course.
Special Skills / Other:
The Registered Nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on her or his assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data ! about the patient's status in order to identify each patients ! age specific needs and provide the care needed by the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient group.
