More complete informations about this position opportunity kindly see the descriptions. Burlington Schools is seeking substitute school nurses to cover school nurses absences on an as needed basis. QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: The following are Required: •Licensed four-year! RN with CPR and First Aid certifications with experience working with teenagers and the variety of medical and social issues facing adolescents•Licensed or eligible for Vermont Educators License as a school nurse.•Pediatric nursing experience.•Evidence of strong commitment creating equitable, multicultural learning environments that are inclusive of, but not limited to: diverse races, ethnicities, places of national origin, citizenships, genders, sexual orientations, religious and spiritual beliefs, ages, physical and learning abilities, and economic class backgrounds.•Evidence of cultural competence, as demonstrated through experiences working in diverse, multicultural learning environments or through the creation and implementation of curriculum or training initiatives..•Experience in handling a variety of day-to-day nursing duties and responsibilities independently in a school including: dispensing medication, monitoring immunizations, dealing with emergencies! , conducting screenings, and assessing students’ health comp! laints•Ability to adapt outreach and interactions while working with range of students from a variety of backgrounds including students with disabilities and ELL students, using translators and consulting with special educators and guidance counselors as needed•Demonstrated ability to work on a team of nurses with strong communication skills•Willingness to follow school district and school policies and procedures, consulting with the school principal and other staff members as needed•Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.•Completed SchoolSpring application including three letters of recommendationThe following are Preferred: • Evidence of strong connection with students and families• Strong communication skills as evidenced through quality of resume and cover letter• School nursing experience• Experience in working with and referring students to area agencies, medical practices, social service supports, and other community partnershipsâ! €¢ Experience in logging student information, inputting data, and documenting student visits using the computer and data bases• Evidence of competency with 21st Century teaching environments.SALARY: Per District PolicyFor further information, contact Louise Mongeon at lmongeon@bsdvt.org.Please apply through SchoolSpring.com.
