Statement of Purpose

The Registered Nurse I utilizes the nursing process with supervision/assistance to deliver nursing care to patients in order to achieve quality outcomes. Communicates need for g! uidance/supervision based on self-assessment of strengths and limitations. Promotes positive image of nursing.

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate of a nursing program: diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate program.
Experience: None

License and Certificates Required: Valid and Current Vermont Registered Nurse License, Basic Life

Support (BLS): Required for hire Advanced Life Support (ACLS) : OR, PACU, ICU, and ED (ASAP)

following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): MCH

(ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS):

MCH (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire)

Reporting Relationships: Supervised By- Director of the assigned area, Supervision Of- N/A

Equipment Utilized: Electronic Medical Record, PC, Common Office Equipm! ent, Patient equipment appropriate to area/unit

The Registered Nurse II utilizes the nursing process to independently deliver nursing care to patients in order to achieve quality outcomes. Communicates need for guidance/supervision based on self-assessment of strengths and limitations. Promotes a positive image of nursing and promotes collegiality among healthcare team members.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience: RN II
Education: Graduate of a nursing program: diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate program.
Experience: At least 3 months and must meet ALL requirements of RN II
License and Certificates Required: Valid and Current Vermont Registered Nurse License, Basic Life Support (BLS): Required for hire , Advanced Life Support (ACLS): OR, PACU, ICU, and ED (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): MCH (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire! ), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): MCH (ASAP following hire; must be obtained within 1 year of hire)
Reporting Relationships: Supervised By-Director of the assigned area , Supervision Of- Registered Nurses I, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Nurses Aides, Orderlies, Unit Secretary, and all others assigned to a specific patient care team including students from various Health care programs.
Equipment Utilized: Electronic Medical Record, PC, Common Office Equipment, Patient equipment appropriate to area/unit.
