Based in Burlington, Vermont, Fletcher Allen Health Care is a 562-bed academic medical center affiliated with the University of Vermont School of Medicine. We are a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center serving a population of one million throughout Vermont and Northern New York. With almost 7,000 employees, we are the largest private employer in the state of Vermont. The area is home to four institutions of higher learning, as well as numerous businesses large and small.
This position will work with acutely ill neurological patients (including stroke) focusing on patient assessment, discharge needs, and family contact/education. The NP will act as a liaison between services to coordinate care primarily in our acute care setting with some outpatient clinic follow-up care.
The successful candidate should have experience in acute and/or critical care nursing and have a demonstrated interest in working with neurologic patient populations. Ther! e is dedicated neurocritcal care physician coverage to foster ! a collaborative, yet independent practice in this academically stimulating environment. Opportunities will exist for program development and/or participation in clinical research.
Eligibility to obtain licensure in Vermont as an advanced practice nurse is required.
